Self-Stabilizing EDF Monocopter

Worked on the CAD model for a self- stabilizing EDF monocopter on a small team through the Cornell Maker Club.

Project Overview

Role

Design the CAD model for the moncopter.
Select appropriate materials.
Choose optimal electronic components.

Current Status

Currently have a prototype with a thrust-to-weight ratio greater than 1.
Stabilization algorithm doesn't work as intended.

Next Steps

Shed weight on body using composite materials.
Change electronics to reduce control system latency.
